Sources come first
Every news story links to its primary source: the Google Search Central blog, the Google Search Status Dashboard, official documentation, or the original study. When a story relies on someone else's reporting or on a single company's data, we say so in the article and link to it.
Quotes are copied word for word from the source and attributed to the person who said them, with a note of where they said it.
Confirmed and unconfirmed
We separate what Google or the source has confirmed from what is reported, observed or our own opinion. Analysis appears under headings such as "Our take", so you can tell reporting from interpretation. If something is unknown, we say it is unknown.
Dates and updates
Every article shows the date it was published. If we change an article in a way that matters, such as a new development or a corrected fact, we update the "Updated" date and explain the change in the article.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say what we fixed. Send corrections to hello@kumaseo.com with the subject line "Correction" and a link to the article.
Authors
Every article carries the name of the person responsible for it, with a link to their profile. We do not publish under made-up names.
Our relationship with SEO Engico
Kuma SEO is written by people who work at SEO Engico, an SEO and link building agency. When an article mentions SEO Engico or its services, we say so in that article. We do not present sponsored content as editorial. If a placement or article is paid for, it is labelled as sponsored.
